Life Resolutions West End

At Life Resolutions West End, we pride ourselves on offering professional, caring and non-judgment treatment of clients. Our psychologists all clinically trained in psychology, meaning that we have had specific training in the accurate assessment, diagnosis and treatment for mental health problems; and that we offer treatments that are evidence based.

But you don’t have to have a diagnosable problem to want to seek help.  Sometimes issues like family stress, work stress or anger management can also cause significant distress in people, and it is in these areas as well that psychologists can offer a way to cope and manage these other problems – because sometimes “life gives you lemons” and we can help you find a way to “make lemonade”!

Our combined specialties in psychology range from: cognitive behavioural therapy, acceptance and commitments therapy, schema therapy and mindfulness.  We are also all PPP (Positive Parenting Program) accredited practitioners and have prior experience in a range of parenting and child management programs.  Our range of clinical backgrounds means we can offer specialty services that fit your specific needs.

As with everyone else, the psychologist at Life Resolutions West End come from a variety of diverse backgrounds, and from this we can create an environment which is sensitive to different cultures, backgrounds and lifestyles.  Our employment backgrounds range from previous private practice work, to working the public sectors of child mental health, adult mental health and older adult mental health.

At Life Resolutions West End we offer a variety of specialized groups throughout the year at our practice.  These groups target specific issues including:

Partners of those with a mental health problem.  Often the partners of those with a mental health problem can be forgotten and can sometimes go unheard.  Because of this we offer a support group with the focus on self-care for those caring for a partner with these issues.

Behavioural management for children.  When the naughty corner is not enough – this group focuses on (1) specific strategies for behavioural management, but (2) how to keep yourself (as a Parent) calm and coping well.

Mindfulness for everyday living.  Mindfulness is an exciting new approach to coping with everyday issues in a calm and focussed manner.  We offer a specific group based on this approach to bring you ‘back to the present’, to encourage a calm, focussed and non-judgemental approach to life.

Mindfulness for anxiety.  In this series of groups, we focus the techniques of mindfulness to offer an effective approach to tackling areas of anxiety and stress.
